Posted: Fri, 10 Jul 2020 16:08
Wednesday 8th July 2020 saw the coming together of more than 30 people from across the district to have a conversation about what active travel, particularly in relation to cycling, looks like in Bradford. Watch the webinar, here.
Speakers from Bradford Council, British Cycling and local charity Capital of Cycling kick started the discussions with presentations on 'Emerging themes around active travel in Bradford' by Simon D'Vali at Bradford Council, 'COVID-19 impact on cycling and current trends' by Anthony Gill at British Cycling and 'Reaching communities? A community led approach' by David Robison at Capital of Cycling.
The presentations can be accessed below:

Following presentations the group split into smaller breakout groups to talk about what was heard with a view to connecting and collaborating. A summary of the discussions can be found here.
Immediate feedback from the session was very positive, with an enthusiasm for meeting again soon to contribute to the implementation of plans across the district. If you would like to be involved in the this meeting, please contact Gillian Brown at Yorkshire Sport Foundation who is co-ordinating the session. Email gillian.brown@yorkshiresport.org.
Finally, a big thank you to all who attended and contributed to the event. We are in a position where the appetite for active travel is evident and we have the ability, between us all, to make things happen. It's a good position to be in.
Details of the next event will be shared soon.
