More activity scheduled for the JU:MP area

JU:MP are delighted to welcome on board 11 organisations or partnerships to mobilise more activity within the JU:MP area. Each organisation, or partnership, will focus on separate areas of delivery, allowing the Sport England pilot to accelerate into the next 2 years in its mission to get children and families moving more!

The pilot has recruited the following organisations and partnerships, through a tender process, onto the workstreams below:

JU:MP Connector programme:

Manningham Housing Association, in partnership with Meridian Centre and Hollings Youth Association will deliver activity in the Manningham neighbourhood.

Bradford Youth Development Partnership, in partnership with Bangledeshi Youth Organisation will deliver activity in the Heaton and Frizinghall neighbourhood.

Girlington Centre will deliver activity in the Girlington neighbourhood.

The Gateway Centre, in partnership with the local Eccleshill Partnership will deliver activity in the Ravenscliffe, Thorpe Edge and Fagley neighbourhood.

Play Bradford will deliver activity in the Windhill, Bolton Woods and Swain House neighbourhood.

JU:MP Neighbourhood leadership:

Bradford Council Neighbourhoods Team will lead whole-system change at a local level, following a tested neighbourhood approach in Heaton and Frizinghall and Girlington areas.

JU:MP Active faith settings:

Faith in Communities will work in partnership with 7 local mosques and madrassahs to embed physical activity in faith settings.

JU:MP Sustainable sports:

Tasif Khan Community Boxing Academy

Great Horton Church Cricket Club

Ping Pong4U

Dan the Skipping Man

All workstreams will have started delivering activity by Spring 2022 and will run for between 15 months and 2 years.

We are now also seeking applications from companies to develop a digital platform for children and families. It will drive behaviour change to encourage children and young people to establish active, healthy lifestyles while simultaneously capturing the data needed to measure the health benefits that these engagements are producing.
